A five-vehicle crash that involved a semitrailer and motor boat blocked all lanes of northbound Interstate 5 Sunday night for hours, according to the State Patrol.

Trooper Guy Gill said the crash happened just after 5:30 p.m. at Northeast Carpenter Road, when a semi driver lost control while trying to stop for slowing traffic.

He identified speed and inattentive driving as the causes of the wreck, and said there were no serious injuries.

He said some traffic was getting around the crash just before 7 p.m., and about an hour later that two lanes had been opened.

A State Patrol photo of the wreck showed a semi and a motor boat, which Gill said came off a trailer during the crash.
