Collaboration got school year off to a great start

OlympiaSeptember 25, 2013

As parents of a Madison Elementary student we want to share our thanks to the community and the Olympia School District for their leadership coordinating students at three sites as construction continues on the school. This has been a smooth transition for our students because of the open-hearted support of two neighborhood faith communities: New Bridge Community Church and First United Methodist Church.

In addition, the parents and staff at Roosevelt Elementary and the ORLA Program have welcomed our students thus turning what is a tough situation into a bit of an adventure. Madison School staff and Olympia district personnel pro-actively worked to address concerns and were responsive to family requests.

The biggest thanks goes out to Madison teachers and staff who tirelessly worked to create wonderful classrooms in stressful circumstances—thanks to them the school year is off to a great start.

The Olympian is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
