Level 3 sex offender missing from registered residence in Mason County

Derek Alan Levasseur is a level 3 sex offender who has absconded from his registered residence in Mason County.

The Mason County Sheriff's Office has issued a general notification regarding level 3 sex offender, Derek Alan Levasseur, 24.

Levasseur recently absconded from his registered residence and his whereabouts are unknown.

Levasseur is required to register as a sex offender due to a conviction on Oct. 29, 2010, of 3rd degree rape of a child and communication with a minor for immoral purposes. The conviction stems from Levasseur, at 21, sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl on multiple occasions. 

Levasseur had moved from his registered residence, was living unregistered at another address and now his whereabouts are unknown.

Derek Levasseur is described as a white male, 6 feet 1 inch and 195 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.
