Joseph and Joyce LaValle will give a presentation on hiking across England at the Olympia Mountaineers Adventure Presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The couple’s presentation is based on their 192-mile coast-to-coast walk on one of the most popular long-distance paths in England. They began their hike at the Irish Sea town of St. Bees and ended at the town of Robin Hoods Bay on the North Sea.
Their adventure took them through three national parks; the mountains of the Lake District; the River Swale Valley and finally the barren, exposed and bleak North York Moors. The trail also led them by historically significant castles, abbeys and villages.
All members and the public are also welcome to attend a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share and your own plate and flatware.
The program will be held at Friends Meeting House at Priest Point, 3201 Boston Harbor Road, Olympia.
