Belfair woman accused of attacking ex-boyfriend

Staff writerSeptember 30, 2013

Mason County sheriff's deputies believe a 27-year-old woman made up a story Friday morning when she accused her ex-boyfriend of stabbing her in the head at a Belfair residence.

Detectives treated the woman at the Mission Creek Road Friday, but the ex-boyfriend told detectives a story that contradicted her account of being stabbed. He said that his ex-girlfriend was trying to stab him, and she accidentally cut herself when he tried to grab the knife.

The physical evidence at the scene back up the ex-boyfriend's account of what had happened, according to a news release from the Mason County Sheriff's Office.

The woman was arrested and booked at the Mason County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault.
