Supporting Darren Mills for Olymipa City Council

OlympiaOctober 1, 2013

We are writing in support of Darren Mills, who is a candidate for Olympia City Council. Darren owns a small business in the heart of downtown Olympia. He knows the sacrifices required to build a business on one’s own and the hard work it takes to make a living. He specifically chose Frida Salon’s location so he could make a positive impact in that area.

On a daily basis, Darren encounters the dilemmas that challenge our downtown’s vitality and success. Largely because of his determination to see our downtown rebound and thrive, Darren has spent most of his off-hours during the past several years supporting and volunteering for local non-profits. And now he is running for City Council so he can help determine and drive City policies that will lead to a safer, more livable downtown, as well as an economically stronger Olympia.

Darren understands that solutions are often difficult, that they require careful listening, and that to reach good decisions, the interests of the participants need to be understood and respected. He also knows it’s critical the city reach out to citizens long before initiatives affecting them leave the station.
