Office Max closing in west Olympia

Staff writerOctober 3, 2013

Office Max in west Olympia is closing.

The Office Max store in west Olympia, near Harrison Avenue, is closing, according to "store closing" signs posted on its storefront.

An employee said the store's last day is expected to be in mid-November.

A spokesperson for the Chicago-area company could not be reached Thursday.

The closure likely is tied to the merger of Office Max and Office Depot, a deal that was announced earlier this year.

Office Max also operates a store in Lacey, near Martin Way and Marvin Road.

Office Depot has a store in west Olympia on Cooper Point Road and a store in Lacey on Sleater-Kinney Road.
