Alexander signs found nailed to telephone poles

YelmOctober 5, 2013

I have noticed many campaign signs in Yelm, Lacey and Olympia for interim Thurston County Auditor Gary Alexander that violate the Thurston County Municipal Code by being nailed to telephone poles throughout the area. Thurston County Municipal Code 23.42.120M states: “M. Political Signs. No sign permit is required. Political signs may not be placed in public parks or attached to traffic safety devices, telephone poles, power poles, or other public utility facilities.”

If Alexander and his campaign are unable for follow county codes, how can we expect him to follow county election laws if he is chosen? And if Alexander says this was his campaign’s doing, then what does that say about his management capabilities, especially when the county auditor oversees 40 employees? Isn’t this a fair question for Thurston County voters to ask themselves prior to casting their vote?
