The local chapter of Trout Unlimited is hoping the fishermen who enjoyed another good year of fishing for pink salmon will give some time back to help clean up the Puyallup River.
The annual riverbank cleanup will take place Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon.
Volunteers should plan to meet next to Johnny’s Bar and Grill in the Fred Meyer parking lot at Meridian Avenue and River Road in Puyallup. Volunteers will help pick up trash and debris along the Riverwalk.
“We have enjoyed our return of the pink salmon on the Puyallup River, now we need people to come help remove the trash left behind,” said organizer Rosendo Guerrero of the Washington Council of Trout Unlimited.
