Winner: Black Hills' Mitch Stone -- Vote for prep football player of the week: Week 5

Here are this week’s five nominees after their Week 5 gridiron performances. Voting ends at noon Tuesday.

-- Olympia's Derrick Becker completed 17 of 21 passes for 223 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' 28-21 win over South Kitsap to push their winning streak to four games. 

-- Timberline’s Jeff Winstead registered a sack, a 4-yard rushing TD, 13 carries for 45 yards, and the game-winning interception in the end zone in the final 90 seconds to secure the Blazers’ 26-20 win over Lincoln.

-- Tumwater’s Gabe Gleizes had two interceptions – a pick-6 for the T-Birds’ final touchdown (48 yards) and a game-winning interception in the end zone in the final seconds to preserve the No. 2-ranked T-Birds’ 35-28 win over sixth-ranked W.F. West.

--Black Hills’ Mitch Stone rushed for 168 yards on 23 carries and scored three touchdowns in the Wolves’ 24-17 win over River Ridge to push its winning streak to three games.

-- After receiving national recognition for a touchdown run against Tumwater last week, Capital’s Conner Kennedy followed it up by helping the Cougars earn their first victory – a 50-6 win over Centralia – by rushing for 107 yards on 14 carries and scoring two touchdowns.
