Tumwater's triple jump state champion commits to Princeton

Tumwater High senior Lane Russell, who captured the Class 2A state title in the triple jump and was state runner-up in the long jump, gave an verbal commitment to compete at Division I Princeton University Sunday night. 

Russell, the school record holder in the triple jump, jumped 47 feet, 1 inch to capture his first state title last May at Star Track. He also jumped 22-0.25 in the long jump to place second at state.
