Two children injured after being hit by car near St. Martin's

A 5-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl were hit by a car early Tuesday evening near St. Martin’s University in Lacey.

The incident happened on College Street Southeast at 6th Avenue Southeast.

The boy had moderate to serious injuries, and both were taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. The 12-year-old girl had minor injuries.

The driver stayed at the scene, and police said alcohol or drug use was not suspected.

The scene was cleared by 5:30 p.m.
