JBLM to honor soldier Thursday who died in Afghanistan

Family, friends and the Lewis-McChord community will remember 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) Soldier Spc. Joshua J. Strickland, 23, of Woodstock, Ga., who died Sept. 21, at Forward Operating Base Shank, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire while conducting range training in Gardez, Paktia Province, Afghanistan.

The ceremony will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, in the JBLM Lewis North Chapel.
