Olympia police are investigating a report of a man who said he was robbed Wednesday afternoon on a wooded pathway behind the Apple Park Apartments in Yauger Park.

Olympia Police Sgt. Dan Duncan said the victim told police he was walking on the pathway when an unknown suspect approached him from behind, struck him on the head, and stole an undisclosed sum of money.

The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, but he was not seriously hurt, Duncan said. Olympia police officers searched Yauger Park Wednesday afternoon, but were unable to find a suspect, Duncan added.

Duncan said Wednesday it is still early in the investigation, and officers are still trying to determine exactly what occurred during the robbery.
