Olympia police are looking for an armed robbery suspect who threatened to shoot employees of Sally Beauty Supply in the 3400 block of Pacific Avenue SE Wednesday night.
According to Olympia police:
The suspect entered the shop about 6:30 p.m., displayed a gun and demanded cash from the register. His face was obscured by camouflage netting. As the suspect was entering the store, an employee warned a customer to leave and call the police. That customer left and immediately called 911.
After Olympia police got there, the suspect had already left. Employees said the suspect ordered them to open the store's safe so he could take additional cash.
Employees said that several times during the robbery, he threatened to shoot them if they failed to follow his directions. After taking the money from the safe, the suspect again threatened them if they called the police, and fled through a back door.
Police searched the area but were unable to locate a suspect. A police K-9 search also was unsuccessful.
The suspect is described as a white man, about five-feet, eleven-inches tall, with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, a camouflage-net face mask, blue jeans, black boots and black gloves.
Employees of Sally Beauty Supply could not immediately be reached for comment.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the armed robbery is urged to call the Olympia Police Department at 360-753-8300 or Thurston County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
