Suspects with handguns rob Lacey medical marijuana collective

Earth Alternative Medicine was robbed Tuesday.

Three suspects armed with handguns robbed Earth Alternative Medicine, a medical marijuana collective on Sleater-Kinney Road in Lacey, on Tuesday night.

During the robbery about 8:15 p.m. in the 1120 block of Sleater-Kinney, the suspects displayed handguns and ordered the employees into a restroom. Two suspects then stole marijuana and other items from the store.

One of the suspects fired multiple rounds from his handgun as he fled, but there were no injuries.

Three customers had arrived at the store during the robbery, and also were detained by the suspects.

Two suspects left through a rear door, and one suspect who left through a front door was followed by one of the employees. The suspect who fled through the front door is the one who fired several rounds from his handgun.

The suspects are described as black men, about 18 to 23-years-old, wearing black hooded jackets, with their faces covered by hoods. One suspect was wearing black patent leather Nike sneakers.

Lacey Police Cmdr. Jim Mack said Wednesday that it is very lucky no one was killed during the robbery. There is no surveillance footage, he added.

"We'd like to find these guys before anyone gets hurt," he said.

On Wedensday afternoon, Earth Alternative Medicine was closed for business, and its phones had been disconnected. A large banner sign on the business indicated it had recently had its "grand opening."

Anyone with information that can assist the investigation is encouraged to call the Lacey Police Department at 360-459-4333, or Thurston County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
