Yelm 'Shark Tank' grannies to speak at local biz conference

Bev Hines and Charlotte Clary, the two grandmothers who appeared on TV's "Shark Tank" and who won an investment for their business Ice Chips Candy in Yelm, will deliver the keynote address at an upcoming business conference.

The event is the South Sound Success Small Business Conference, which is set for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 5 at the SPSCC Hawks Prairie Campus Annex, 1401 Marvin Road N.E., Lacey.

The conference is open to new and existing business owners.

In addition to the keynote address, the conference will feature 16 workshops, including workshops on finance, bookkeeping and tax preparation; marketing and social media; human resources, leadership skills and legal structures.
