Stormans, Valley Athletic Club win awards

Stormans Inc., the operator of two Thriftway stores in Olympia and Valley Athletic Club in Tumwater, were among several statewide businesses that were recognized this week by the Office of Secretary of State.

Each was recognized for giving back to the community as part of a 2013 Corporations for Communities award program.

The Corporation for Communities award winners: Weyerhaeuser, Ikea, Town Auto Group, McClain Insurance Services and Columbia Fresh Produce.

Honor roll winners: Stormans Inc., Valley Athletic Club, Cedar Grove Composting, Pacific Alliance Title and KHQ Television.
