Pratt has earned voters’ support for re-election

OlympiaOctober 24, 2013

I am writing this letter in support of re-electing Cynthia Pratt to the Lacey City Council. Cynthia has demonstrated the skills needed to be a functional council member. She listens to her constituents with an open mind and builds consensus without the rancor so often found in elected bodies these days.

She supports her local schools, as evidenced by her presence at last week’s luncheon for the NTPS Educational Foundation. Hearing the inspiring stories from NTPS staff so touch a cord of those present that they opened their pocketbooks to make it the most successful program ever. Cynthia is concerned about our environment, but she also supports smart growth. A stagnant city is a dying city.

She is looking ahead to secure low-cost loans and grants to help finance sewer lines to replace failing septic systems. As Lacey ages, more and more families will find themselves in the position of having to replace their septic systems to the tune of $10,000 to $25,000. Lastly, Cynthia supports the Senior City Expansion Project that will provide more opportunities for our aging population.

The Olympian is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
