Shipping news: Macuru Arrow will unload bagged proppants

M/V Macuru Arrow will spend two days at the Port of Olympia unloading bagged ceramic proppants.

The M/V Macuru Arrow, which arrived Wednesday at the Port of Olympia, will unload a shipment of bagged ceramic proppants over the next two days before it leaves.

Proppants are used in an oil and gas extraction process known as hydraulic fracturing or fracking. Once unloaded, the material is shipped by rail to North Dakota.
