Pratt has earned second term on Lacey council

I support Cynthia Pratt for Lacey City Council. Cynthia understands complex environmental issues and she knows that a healthy environment is an essential part of a healthy community. She also knows the best, long-term solutions come from collaboration and understanding.

In her first term on the City Council, she has drawn on the knowledge and skills she gained from her career as a fish-and-wildlife biologist to find good solutions that protect and restore the environment in and near Lacey.

For example, she played a significant role in the city’s plan to augment Woodland Creek with reclaimed water as mitigation for expanded water rights for Lacey. Woodland Creek has routinely gone dry in the summer months. This work will recharge shallow aquifers and help stabilize stream flows, supporting salmon use of the creek — a win-win for the environment and water users.

I worked with Cynthia on environmental issues for 20-plus years, and saw firsthand her dedication to protecting the environment. She has demonstrated her commitment to both people and the environment during her first term on the City Council.
