Winner: Cedar Frost -- Vote for prep football player of the week: Week 8

Here are this week's five nominees after their Week 8 gridiron performances. Voting ends at noon Tuesday.

-- Black Hills' Zach Grate forced five fumbles (recovered two), and returned one fumble for a 37-yard touchdown in the Wolves' 45-20 win over Centralia. 

-- Tenino's Thomas Pier (five catches, 154 yards, 3 TDs) had all three of his touchdowns in a 26-point fourth quarter by the Beavers in a 39-32 come-from-behind win over Hoquiam to keep their league titles hopes alive. 

-- Olympia's Cedar Frost ran for a career-high 220 yards on 31 carries in the Bears' 28-10 road win over No. 8 Bellarmine Prep. 

-- Rochester's Tyler Yarber, the area's leading rusher, ran for a career-high 369 yards on 43 carries and scored five touchdowns in the Warriors' 49-27 nonleague win over Stevenson. 

-- W.F. West's Bryan Moon had six catches for 174 yards and two touchdowns, and also returned a fumble for a 63-yard touchdown in the Bearcats' 42-28 win over Capital to clinch second place in the 2A Evergreen Conference.
