Tonight: Olympia School Board to recognize schools, discuss tech levy

Olympia School Board members will recognize Avanti High School, Jefferson Middle School and Madison Elementary School for receiving 2013 School of Distinction awards during their meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday (Oct. 28) at Knox Administrative Center, 1113 Legion Way SE, Olympia.

Other agenda items include:

*A presentation by staff and students about Avanti High School’s programs and test scores.

*Discussion about a proposed four-year technology levy.

*Information about options for the district’s use of force policy.

*Information about design changes and a new bid of $67,000 for an audio visual system in five rooms of the Capital High School’s fitness center.

*A first reading of a resolution to authorize rollback of the 2014 Excess Levy Authority and authorize uncollected administrative refunds regarding collection of the Maintenance and Operations and Capital Projects levies.
