O Bee Credit Union has opened a new branch in Yelm, its fifth branch in Thurston County.

The new location is at 1201 Yelm Road, the site of a former Blockbuster Video business.

About 300 people took part in a grand opening ceremony, including visitors and credit union staff.

"We opened 15 new accounts, a loan and even a mortgage, all during our three hour grand opening," O Bee Credit Union Chief Executive James Collins said in a statement.

"We're delighted to be in Yelm and we think the feeling is mutual," Collins added.

O Bee Credit Union, which originally got its start in 1955 as the Olympia Brewing Company Employees and Families Credit Union, also has branches in Tumwater, west Olympia, Tenino and Lacey.
