Praise for preserving farmland in perpetuity

OlympiaNovember 2, 2013

I

am writing to commend John Dodge, my friend Russ Fox, Kirsop Farm, Enterprise for Equity, and Creekside Conservancy and all the people associated with the South of the Sound Community Farm Land Trust. John Dodge did such a fine job (Oct. 24, The Olympian) thoroughly show-casing the recent acquisition of land that allows Scatter Creek Community Farm to “support and expand sustainable organic agriculture production in perpetuity.” What a gift to the South Sound. All involved deserve the thanks of our entire community. I also applaud the training program for low income families to learn “agripreneurship” and the preservation of fish and wildlife habitat along the Chehalis River. Onward.

The Olympian is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
