Government shutdown cost billions

TumwaterNovember 4, 2013

T hanks, Republicans! You shut down the government for 16 days and it only cost the economy about $24 billion (yes, that’s billion). But no price is too high when you’re fighting for a principle — to deprive uninsured United States citizens of affordable health care insurance. It would be positively un-American if we all had access to the same kind of health care that you have in Congress.
