FLY FISHING: Jim, Donna Teeny speak at Olympia TU meeting

November 10, 2013

Jim and Donna Teeny will give a program on fly fishing for trout, salmon and steelhead at the Nov. 20 meeting of the Olympia Chapter of Trout Unlimited.

Jim Teeny is a fly-fishing innovator and will discuss the Teeny Nymph, T-series sinking tip fly lines for fresh and saltwater angling, and Teeny Series fly rods. Donna Teeny, also an avid fly fisher, will provide insights in a part of the presentation titled “Fly Fishing for Women.”

Jim Teeny started the Teeny Nymph Co. in 1971. It became what is now Jim Teeny, Inc., which they run from their headquarters in Gresham, Ore.

In addition to appearing on many television shows and has writing articles in major fishing publications, Jim Teeny has written a book, “Fly Fishing Great Waters,” that documents the fly-fishing adventures of his life with a focus on some of his favorite fly-fishing spots in the world. The Teenys also will bring Teeny products for a raffle at the end of his presentation.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the North Olympia Fire Station, 5046 Boston Harbor Road NE, Olympia. The meeting is being held a week early to avoid conflicts with Thanksgiving.
