Mason County Sheriff's deputies find missing bike rider

November 11, 2013

A man reported missing by his sister around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, was found safe early Monday morning about a mile from where search and rescue teams found his motorcycle.

Darren Dysart, 44, was riding his dirt bike along the Mission Creek trail head near Belfair when his bike ran out of gas. He messaged his sister and told her what was happening but after not hearing from her brother for a couple of hours, Jill Venturi decided to call the Mason County Sheriff's Office.

Mason County deputies, Department of Natural Resources officers, and Fire District #2 firefighters began a search of the trails on quads.  Officers found the motorcycle at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, and at around 1:30 a.m. Monday, crews found Darren walking in the forest.  He was escorted to safety, and is in good health.
