Brogan's Auto Repair in Rainier burglarized

Staff writerNovember 12, 2013

Thurston County sheriff's detectives are investigating the theft of two vehicles and thousands of dollars worth of tools during a burglary of Brogan's Auto Repair in Rainier early Monday morning.

The suspects gained entry to the business overnight Sunday by removing the screws from metal siding to the business and bending it back, Thurston County Sheriff's Sgt. Ray Brady said. Brogan's is located at 301 Binghampton Sreet in the heart of downtown Rainier, Brady said.

A 2011 Chevy Impala and a Dodge Dakota 4 x 4 were reported stolen along with tools and equipment used in auto body repair, Brady said. Both cars were later recovered, Brady said. The Impala was torched by whomever left it, likely after it was stripped of parts, he said.

Detectives were reviewing surveillance footage from the burglary, Brady said. The business has been burglarized several times in the past, he added.

Anyone with information that can help detectives is encouraged to call the sheriff's office detectives division at 360-786-5530.
