Male driver offers 11-year-old Olympia girl a ride

Olympia police are investigating a possible attempt to lure a 11-year-old girl Thursday afternoon as she walked at the intersection of Puget Street and Olympia Avenue on the east side.

The 11-year-old girl reported that as she was walking about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, a stranger pulled up beside her in an "older, black, two-door pickup," according to Olympia police.

The girl said the man offered her a ride. She refused and the man drove away without leaving his truck.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 50 years old, with a grey, stringy beard.

Police encourage parents to report any suspicious behavior.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the Olympia Police Department at 360-753-8300, or Thurston County Crime Stoppers at 360-493-2222. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous.
