Charlotte, NC ( - Carolina Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

Johnson, who sprained his knee during Monday night's win over the New England Patriots, hasn't missed a game since the 2011 regular season finale.

Johnson has 8 1/2 sacks this season for the league's third-ranked defense.

Linebacker Chase Blackburn (foot), tight end Ben Hartsock (knee) and guard Chris Scott (knee) have also been ruled out.

Defensive end Greg Hardy, who missed Thursday's practice with a knee injury, returned to practice fully Friday and is probable for Sunday's tilt.
