The 36th Olympia Toy Run – which draws thousands of motorcyclists each year -- is slated for Dec. 7 this year.

Gates opens at South Sound Center on Sleater-Kinney Road in Lacey at 10:00 a.m., with live entertainment from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Riders leave the shopping center parking lot at 1 p.m. and head for the state Capitol grounds via downtown Olympia.

The Olympia Toy Run brings motorcyclists together to collect toys and other donations for The Salvation Army's Toy 'n' Joy Shop, which distributes Christmas gifts to needy children every holiday season. Many of the donated toys are strapped to the bikes as motorcyclists ride.
