No injuries reported in Olympia house fire

OlympianDecember 3, 2013

Nobody was injured in a fire Tuesday reported at about 5:15 p.m. at 2004 Arietta Ave. S.E. Olympia, according to Olympia Fire Department deputy fire chief Greg Wright.

Crews chased flames through multiple attic spaces in the 4,000-5,000 square-foot house for about 50 minutes until the roof became unstable, he said. After switching to a defensive attack, firefighters had to keep flames from spreading to a number of large trees adjacent to the house and neighboring homes, Wright said.

Damage was more than $400,000, and the house was a complete loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
