Fuel tax is hard on rural folks

OakvilleDecember 25, 2013

Yes, Gov. Jay Inslee wants yet another slice of tax money for mental health, technology and prisons. All necessary functions of government. I wish he also had a glimmer of an idea on growing an economy that could support all of the needs. I haven’t heard much more than giving Boeing a deal to avoid taxes. Could these breaks fund his wishes? Add to that the increase in fuel tax, which greatly impacts the rural citizen plagued with chronic unemployment. The high fuel requirements of the land rich, cash poor agricultural community feels a burden that will soon be unbearable.

Measured relief from taxes and regulation would stimulate the economy and increase overall revenue. It has worked before. Couldn’t we give it a try?
