jeff.mayor@thenewstribune.comJanuary 5, 2014

Heather “Anish” Anderson will talk about her record through-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail during a fundraiser Thursday.

Earlier this year, Anderson completed the 2,633-mile trek in 60 days, 17 hours and 12 minutes, an average of 44 miles per day.

Her program will include a slide-show presentation and a question-and-answer session. She will talk about her journey, preparation, gear choices, on-trail joys and tribulations and four sightings of mountain lions.

This event is organized and sponsored by the Foothills Branch Hiking & Backpacking Committee. A portion of the event proceeds will provide financial support to TRACKS Outdoor Youth Program, the city of Bellevue and Snohomish Country Helicopter Rescue Team.

The event will be held at the Highland Center in Bellevue starting at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 from brownpapertickets.com.

Any unsold tickets will be available for $13 at the door.
