Wind, rain on the way for weekend

Staff writerJanuary 10, 2014

If you’re planning on doing anything outside Saturday — perhaps watching the Seahawks’ divisional playoff game — here’s your weather warning:

An incoming storm will bring up to 2 inches of rain and strong winds by Saturday, forecasters said Thursday.

The heaviest precipitation is expected on Friday afternoon and to continue through midday Saturday.

Most of Western Washington also will be hit with 20- to 35-mile-per-hour winds, with gusts reaching 40 mph to 50 mph.

The snow level should rise from 5,000 to 7,000 feet during the storm and drop back to 3,000 feet by the end, the Weather Service said.
