Cable television network C-SPAN will visit Olympia this month to highlight the city’s history and authors.
An official kickoff for the weeklong project will begin at 3 p.m. Monday at the State Capital Museum’s Lord Mansion, 211 21st Ave. SW. At that time, C-SPAN will reveal which sites and authors will be covered in Olympia. The public is invited to attend.
C-SPAN videographers will then hit the streets in three local content vehicles, in which they will record, edit and produce from the road.
The finished program will air Feb. 1 and 2 on C-SPAN’s Book TV (Comcast Channel 25) and American History TV (Comcast Channel 150). The 2013-14 nationwide tour featured a special on Bellingham that aired Jan. 4-5. Cities slated for a profile this year include Chattanooga, Tenn.; Macon, Ga.; Salem, Ore.; and Florida cities Tallahassee and Fort Myers.firstname.lastname@example.org
