A 41-year-old Snohomish resident  was arrested Tuesday morning after detectives with the Washington State Patrol's Missing and Exploited Task Force accused him of dealing and possession of child pornography.

According to a press release, the investigation began when detectives discovered files containing known child porn images were being traded across the internet. A search warrant was issued for subscriber information on the originating IP address, and that warrant led detectives to obtain a search warrant for a residence in Snohomish.

Early Tuesday, detectives executed the search warrant on the residence and arrested the resident.

During the search, detectives seized multiple digital media devices from the residence, according to the release.

A forensic preview of some of the devices confirmed the presence of child porn images.

The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on charges of Dealing and Possession of Depictions of Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
