Thurston County apartment vacancy rates remain tight, still hovering at just under 5 percent, new data released Thursday show.
Vacancy rates in the fourth quarter fell to 4.71 percent from 4.97 percent in the previous quarter, according to Apartment Insights of Seattle.
Tumwater had the lowest vacancy rate at 3.39 percent.
Other fourth quarter data for the county:
-Although vacancy rates remain low, average rents were unchanged at $869.
-There are 976 apartment units under construction, most of which are in Thurston County.
Apartment Insights bases its information on data from properties with 50 or more units.
