Centralia Rotary's "Catch the Buzz" Spelling Bee needs sponsors and spellers

OlympianJanuary 24, 2014

Centralia Rotary is looking for local businesses, organizations, and community members to participate in its seventh annual “Catch the Buzz” Spelling Bee.

The event, which includes a silent auction and dessert auction, is set for 5:30 p.m.,  Feb. 21, at Corbett Theater, at Centralia College.

Participation in the adult spelling bee competition requires a tax-deductible entry fee of $350 per four-member team. The winning team will receive a grand prize as well as prizes for Best Team Spirit and Best Team Costume.

Businesses, organizations, and community members lacking spellers can underwrite a group of spellers looking for a sponsor.

Those who don’t want to spell or fund a team will have opportunities to support Centralia College by attending the Spelling Bee as a spectator for $10,  which includes appetizers or donating to the silent auction. No host beer and wine available by Heymann Winery.

“Catch the Buzz” Spelling Bee is a fundraiser for The Fox Theatre Restoration.

Information and entry forms are available from Centralia Rotary. Interested persons should call Julie Shaffley at 736-3830, or Lynn Ford at 269-8837.
