Members of the Snohomish County Council want to name a new Mukilteo Boys & Girls Club after former state Sen. Paull Shin, the Everett Herald reports.

The County Council is asking the state Senate to approve $3 million for construction of the facility, according to the Herald article.

Shin, who served four terms in the Senate, retired earlier this month due to health reasons. He was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's, his office said in a news release announcing his resignation.
