Sounders cruise in friendly

A team made up mostly of Seattle Sounders reserves defeated the College of Charleston, 5-0, in a training friendly Sunday in Charleston, S.C.

Seattle’s goals came from Zach Scott, Sean Okoli, Tristan Bowen, David Estrada and Fabio Pereira.

The Sounders started a lineup of goalkeeper Josh Ford; defenders Leo Gonzalez, Damion Lowe, Jimmy Ockford and Scott; midfielders Bowen, Gonzalo Pineda, Alex Caskey and Okoli; and forwards Chad Barrett and Kevin Parsemain.

Most of those players sat out the Sounders’ 2-1 win over the Charleston Battery in their Carolina Challenge Cup opener Saturday.

The Sounders return to Challenge Cup action at 2 p.m. Wednesday against the Houston Dynamo.
