Evergreen women begin playoff run Tuesday at Southern Oregon

For the third straight season, The Evergreen State College women's basketball team is one of eight teams Cascade Collegiate Conference to qualify for the postseason tournament, which tips-off Tuesday at various campus sites. 

Evergreen (14-11 overall, 10-8 CCC) earned the fifth seed and travels to No. 4 seed Southern Oregon. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday from Ashland, Ore.

Evergreen had the conference's third-best mark on the road at 8-3, including a 73-69 road win over eventual third-seed College of Idaho last Friday. Senior guard Sammi Clark leads the Geoducks in scoring (14.7 ppg) and is one of four players to average double figures this season, joining Brittany Gray (13.8), Jessica Denmon (11.2) and Sadee Jones (10.8). Gray's 8.8 rebounds per game also ranks fourth in the CCC.

Evergreen men finished the season 4-21 overall and 3-15 in the CCC, and failed to qualify for the postseason.
