Maryland-based school music company acquires music stores in Lacey, Olympia

Music & Arts, a Maryland-based school music company has expanded into Washington state by acquiring seven stores operated by Music Centers, including a store in Lacey and Olympia.

The store in Olympia is called Westside Music Center and the store in Lacey is South Sound Music Center.

Music & Arts specializes in the sale and rental of musical instruments, instrument repairs and music lessons, according to a news release.

It operates 128 locations throughout the country.

In addition to stores in Lacey and Olympia, Music Centers, which originally started as Lakewood Music in 1955, also has stores in Renton, Puyallup, Federal Way, Lakewood and South Hill.
