Credit Union wants to build new branch in Tumwater

Staff writerFebruary 27, 2014

Evergreen Direct Credit Union wants to build a new branch in Tumwater, according to information released by the city of Tumwater.

The credit union is proposing to build a two-story, 7,500-square-foot branch at 6001 Capitol Boulevard S.W. It also would have a drive-up window. An existing building on that site would be demolished.

The owner of the property is Nicole Pham, who also owns the Lemon Grass restaurants in Olympia and Lacey. Pham once sought to develop the Tumwater property into another Lemon Grass location but later abandoned those plans.

A representative of Evergreen Direct Credit Union is set to meet with the city's development review committee next week to discuss the proposal.
