Tell elected officials how to represent you

OlympiaMarch 1, 2014

I ’m writing in appreciation of two significant people. First, Congressman Denny Heck for his gracious welcome and his attentive ear during a recent visit from Olympia RESULTS members. Our topic included the Education for All Act, especially Global Partnership for Education that Willie Dickerson applauds in his Feb. 20 letter (Bill would help world’s children get an education). We live in an amazing representative democracy where we have access to our decision makers. I am fully appreciative of the importance of letting them know how I want them to represent me. Our nation has joined other world leaders in recognizing the value of educating all our children, the world’s greatest resource. We stand by that pledge and hope our leaders will too.

The Olympian is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
