Quixote Village cottages expensive per square foot

RochesterMarch 14, 2014

The various news stories about Olympia’s tent city campers has drawn much interest over the past years. The recent solution of moving the campers to a newly completed, government-planned and built development of cottages is startling to me.

As the thunderous self-applause of the community’s bureaucrats roars on, it seems to drown out the insanity of spending $3.1 million to build 30 showerless, 10-foot-by-15-foot cabins. This amounts to a cost of about $100,000 for each cabin, or nearly $700 per square foot, for this modern Hooverville.”
