DEADLINE NEARS: Women’s sailing group offers on-water classes

March 23, 2014

The Tacoma Women’s Sailing Association is offering its annual women-teaching-women-to-sail classes beginning April 15.

The classes will be Tuesdays for six weeks in Tacoma and Gig Harbor.

The association offer beginner, intermediate and spinnaker levels, depending upon individual experience. All classes are conducted in boats on the water with a full hands-on sailing opportunity.

The cost is $180, which includes membership in the association so participants will be covered by the group’s insurance.

The association is the oldest women’s sailing organization in the United States, founded in 1972, and has been offering sailing lessons for women for more than 35 years.

Those who are interested in participating should visit twsa.org for registration information and forms. The deadline is April 9.
