A 7-year-old boy has been airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, in Seattle, after being struck by a car in Tumwater.

A seven-year-old boy was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Tuesday morning after being run over by a pickup truck in the 700 block of Clark Street Southwest in Tumwater, according to Tumwater Police Detective Jen Kolb.

The boy was running on the sidewalk with his father, she said.

“He slipped and fell in a driveway and a pickup was backing out of the driveway,” Kolb said.

After being run over by the pickup, the boy was conscious and talking, but his injuries were unknown, Kolb said.

The driver, a woman in her mid-40s, was not cited at the scene, Kolb said. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been a factor, but the case is still under investigation, she said.
