Stop reporting news about marijuana laws

SheltonMarch 26, 2014

We subscribe to two daily newspapers and one weekly. Of late, the single most frequent news topic is advertising marijuana. If marijuana is the most important news you can find, this must be a pretty tame world. Most of us who read the paper are not interested in reading about marijuana.

In 10 years, when 60 percent of our youth are hooked on marijuana and it is found out, just as so many people have already said, that it is bad for the brain and body, the news media will have plenty to write about. I’m sure it won’t be good news.

The Olympian is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
